How fascinating that 2 dr appointments turned into 3 for the next time. I can see a knee MRI in the near future, but perhaps my fortune telling abilities are off this time. The nurses just ask if there is anything new and I look at them like a deer caught in the headlights. I don’t need anything more!!! When I was told I was a type 2 diabetic, I thought that was the worst. Then came the pain of a compression back fracture and osteoporosis and I thought that was the worst. But next was lung cancer and what can be worse than that? Multiple Sclerosis was next and now I’m not asking. We won’t even talk about the Fuchs Dystrophy or Hydradenitis. I never knew there were so many types of doctors…….but now I have appointments. ok Time to get real and make dinner.

Granddaughters are so much fun………but they can also be exhausting. My memories of being 11 & 14 are so different. There was no computer, TV , no cell phone and certainly not the running that they like to do. What happened to riding a bike, reading, etc, They came equipped with their own lap top puter, 2 cell phones and a couple of books. I figure nobody in the family will ever read this so I’m safe BUT the one has a boyfriend. He calls every night!!! I mean EVERY night. They talk about who knows what! Hmmmmmm my hubby didn’t call every night when we were engaged!!! lol These kids are going to be high maintenance. But then they go to a school that costs more per year than my entire college education. Unbelieveable!!!

We did get our travel documents for the cruise. Now to get hubby thru his physical therapy and walking! Along with all of the necessities is a little paper that says I’m mobile, but not very. Seems to say it all. Now to figure out what shore excursions we’d like. Obviously sky diving is out. Opps……I never liked heights anyway. Not much missing there. Perhaps I should have thought about what a classmate called….. http://hellifiknow.ca/. It seems so fitting. Falling

My hubby had a knee replacement about 3 months ago. Things didn’t go as well as we hoped and he had to have a manipulation done. Despite all the horror stories that we had heard, it went very well and hes doing better. Yesterday he fell. Stupid things hapen sometimes. ;o/ BUT it doesn’t appear that any damage was done. Hopefully more scar tissue was broken. Our fingers are crossed!!!!!

We have things to do! AND hes susposed to take care of me.

Moms party was great but the surprise of the day was that all 3 of our daughters were there. One came in from California as a surprise. ;o) Now we’re going to have our 2 Florida granddaughters staying with us for almost 3 weeks. It should be fun. BUT I have to keep an 11 & 13 year old busy. hmmmmmmmm. I know there are always movies, and the computer……but I wonder if they would like to learn how to knit. I guess we’ll find out. I have found some really neat sock patterns tho. I know that they like to wear them…….perhaps we can learn how to MAKE them? http://stitchesofviolet.blogspot.com/2006/07/shetland-lace-rib-sock-pattern.html There are some neat patterns here.

Things are looking just a bit better here. Hubby had his knee manipulated and we’ve paid for a cruise. Wowwwwwwwww. Hes walking! It looks like we are going to England, Spain, Gibraltar, Italy and Monte Carlo. Wonder if I should start saving to go to the casino? Any advice?

Mom is 94!

Somehow I have a hunch that when I say my Mother is 94…….you know I’m not in my 30′s. But I’m very proud of her. Shes an amazing lady. Shes in better health than I am. My brother is visiting from California, so we’re having a party!! Cousins, second cousins, grandkids and greatgrandkids will be there as well. She lives in an independant living facility that is really a great place. It looks like its going to be a beautiful day and I’m taking my camera. Now if I can just figure out how to put a picture on here, we just might have something to see.

I’ve given up my daily bike riding this week and it sounds terrible…….but I feel much better!!! My legs will go places and do more. Wish I knew just why that was happening. ;?

Babysitting

We’re getting to the weekend and on Friday evenings, we frequently have our daughter and her family here. We are really in a rut!!!! Friday nights is usually McDonalds. I know………fast food. ;o/ BUT I don’t have to cook there is no cleanup to do <2nd positive thing> and it doesn’t taste all that bad . The girls usually do chicken nuggets, apple slices and milk. Pretty healthy IMHO. ok………..but tonight Mom wants to go back to school and because of circumstances……I’ll have the girls until their Dad comes to pick them up. Papa won’t be here. And where will he be? He was asked to play his bagpipes at a “Relay for Life” program. Yes……..I’m married to a bagpipper. He comes with kilt and all. When his knee is doing well, he is in a marching band. There are 2 little granddaughters. This is the youngest. 2 more will be coming to visit on Sunday. Lots more to be said about them. And there are 2 grandsons but they live in California.

Why are Thursdays always so busy? Is it just me?? Its a toss up. Do I try and catch up on the miles I should have ridden this week on my bike……..or do I finish reading chapter 3 of my class? Decisions………..

I thought it would be so easy to just sit down and right a few humorous things. I have a crazy family, a nutty cat or 2 and a rather quirky life. It isn’t easy. We’ve been doing lots of various things, but for the moment its all been medical. My husband had a new knee done at the new of Feb and now he isn’t responding as well as he should be, sooooooooooo they are going to do a manipulation on it next Mon. For the following 10 days, he will have to be taken to physial therapy. I have a hunch thats the end of my free time for a while. But I could be wrong. Wouldn’t that be a nice surprise!!! ;o)))
